South Of The Tracks - San Francisco Street Maloney's Tavern - Flagstaff, Arizona San Francisco Street - Flagstaff, AZ Train Station - Flagstaff, Arizona Route 66 "East" Of San Francisco Street Route 66 "West" Of San Francisco Street Monsoon Express/Heritage Square Aspen Street - Flagstaff, AZ
Looking South (away from peaks) down Leroux Street to the corner of Route 66 and Leroux. Party central, downtown Flagstaff, AZ: You have Collins Irish Pub, Alpine Pizza, Charly's, Maloney's Tavern, Herritage Square, San Felipe's and Uptown Billiards all within a couple blocks of each other. Downtown Flagstaff Arizona - The tracks at San Francisco Street and the world famous Route 66. Taken right at the corner of Phoenix Avenue and San Francisco Street looking North (toward the Peaks). Sitting right on the corner of the world famous Route 66 and what I like to call "party central," Leroux Street, is Collin's Irish Pub (on the west side of the street). It's a favorite hang out for NAU fraternities and sororities. Another popular hang-out for Northern Arizona University fraternities and sororities is Maloney's Tavern on the North-West corner of Leroux Street and Aspen. Maloney's is my personal favorite place to party in downtown Flagstaff along with Mogollon Brewery (which has the best beer). What a combination! Between these two places in the heart of downtown Flagstaff, Arizona and San Felipe's (not in the picture) and you have a very diverse crowd. On any given Thursday night you'll see more happy college students on this corner than any other place in town. Looking North down Leroux Street you'll find Maloney's and San Felipe's, two popular local hang-outs for Flagstaff, AZ. On the South-West corner of Leroux and Aspen in the heart of downtown Flagstaff, AZ is Charly's Pub and Grill. The more artistic and philosophical crowd seems to hang-out at this local historical treasure (over 100 years old). The food is some of the best in town and the live music separates it from the rest of the crowd in the immediate area. San Felipe's Cantina on Leroux Street in downtown Flagstaff Arizona (next to Maloney's and across from Downtown Billiards) caters to the party crowd. Well known by the local Northern Arizona University (NAU) Students as the only place in town where you can dance on the bar at leisure. A fun time had by all on Thursday nights when the crowd comes out at night. On Agazzis Street just East of Downtown Flagstaff, AZ and less than a block from Route 66 you'll find my favorite brewery--Mogollon Brewing Company. They have a stout beer that'll rival the best out there. Just don't get drunk on the stuff--talk about a hang-over from hell!...but that's true with any micro-brewery beer. On Leroux Street across from San Felipe's along "party central row" you'll discover Uptown Billiards. A great place to have a beer and challenge your rival to a friendly game of pool all night long. Looking North on San Francisco Street from Route 66 you see the Hotel Monte Vista, Martan's Burrito Palace, Aspen Sports and more. Situated on the corner of Leroux Street and the world famous Route 66 in Flagstaff, AZ is the train station (South of Route 66). It is said that over 80 trains pass through any given day in Flagstaff Arizona via these tracks. The North side of the tracks on Route 66 in Flagstaff, AZ. In the background of this picture is San Francisco Street (looking West). This shot is looking East down Route 66 with San Francisco Street in the background. This picture was taken right in front of the train station on the corner of Leroux and Route 66. This is right across from Maloney's Tavern and catycorner (sp?) to Charly's Pub & Grill. Monsoon Express, part of Heritage Square in downtown Flagstaff, Arizona. The North-West corner of Leroux Street and Aspen. This is San Francisco Street south of the tracks just in front of what the locals call the "Mad I" (Mad Italian) looking South toward Northern Arizona University (NAU). Now called "MartAnne's," just North of Route 66 on San Francisco Street, this small restaurant is a hot spot to have breakfast and lunch. They have a dish called "chilaquiles" that pretty much built the place--it's that good. Chilaquiles (red or green) is a combination of scrambled eggs, corn tortillas, red or green enchilada sauce, cheese and onions and served with hashbrowns, beans, rice and a tortilla. I don't know anyone who doesn't like it. Don't expect MartAnne's to be open after 2 pm. They only serve breakfast and lunch. Another local hang-out just south of the tracks in downtown Flagstaff, AZ is the Mad Italian bar and grill (on the left). Looking at Hotel Monte Vista on Aspen Street, this shot was taken from the corner of Leroux and Aspen looking East. On this street you have Heritage Square and Monsoon Express, Downtown Diner, Mountain Oasis, Pasto and Corea restaurants.
