Mile Marker 394 On Hwy 89A The Courthouse On Birch Street January 4, 2005 Snow Storm A Place To Worship In Northern Arizona Secrist Hall In The Snow - Circa 1998 1890's Train On Fort Valley Road Old Caboose On Fort Valley Road North Union Building - NAU Within Flagstaff,AZ City Limits
Heading toward Flagstaff, Arizona on Hwy 89A from Sedona, AZ after climbing the switch-backs and on the straight-away. Directly across from the Museum of Northern Arizona, this house is where Ted Danson of "Cheers" fame called home for most of his childhood. Looking East from Laroux Street toward the courthouse at the corner of Birch Street and San Francisco Street. This killer snow storm that started Monday January 3 and ended early morning on January 5, 2005 prompted Flagstaff city officials to declare a "Weather State Of Emergency" because power was out all over town--including my house! We received over two-and-a-half feet of snow at the base of Mount Elden where I live. Snow drifts were up to the base of our East facing windows on the house. My car was trapped for three days. If you didn't have 4X4 or chains, you didn't use your vehicle. This picture was taken on Wednesday January 5th between mile marker 221 and 222 on Hwy 180 just north of Flag Staff. Snow covers the Chapel Of The Holy Dove just outside of Flagstaff, AZ in Kendrick Park--On Hwy 180 between Valle, Arizona and Flagstaff. This Interdenominational place of worship is open to all faiths and all who practice a faith, regardless. Looking South-West toward "Old Main" across from the Administration building on the North campus of Northern Arizona University. Looking South-West from the East side of the University Union toward McDonald Hall (foreground) and Secrist Hall (background) in mid winter 1998. This excellent example of the trains used in the late 1800's and early 1900's by the local lumber industry is available for viewing on Fort Valley Road just a few blocks South of the Museum of Northern Arizona. This excellent example of a caboose used in an era gone by is also available for viewing on Fort Valley Road just a few blocks South of the Museum of Northern Arizona. Looking South-West toward the North Union Building at Northern Arizona University. Seven miles North of Snowbowl road (approx. 14 miles from downtown Flagstaff) on Hwy 180 (just past mile marker 232) you will find the Nordic Center at around 8000 feet above sea level. Looking South toward North Morton Hall at Northern Arizona University. A look (South) at the area near Hanley, Bury and Taylor Halls. A winter scene within the Flagstaff Arizona city limits--near the Puliam Airport--October 29, 2004. Can you find the horse almost completely hidden?
