ALLEY OOP GRIND - back
to list
Ride up to the coping on which you'll
grind, and do a 180 onto it.
You should be grinding backward at this
point.
BACK-UP PLAN "A" and "B" - back
to list
Raise your seat to a level comfortable
for the rider (you) and if you want, turn it to one side (side-ways).
Get to a certain fast speed (what-ever's
good for you).
Then, making sure you somehow hold onto
your bars, lay on the seat with your back (plan "A") or lay on your
seat with your stomach (plan "B").
Then kick your feet out.
BUNNY-HOP - back
to list
Foundational for other tricks, a bunny-hop is getting both tires off the
ground without a ramp or any other such tool.
Simply pull up on the handle-bars, get
the front tire high in the air, then use your legs to lift up the back
wheel by pushing/pulling on the pedals.
Then level the bike by pushing down on
the handle-bars.
BAR-SPIN - back
to list
This trick can be done on the ground
or in mid air.
Simply spin your handle-bars 360 degrees
in either direction.
Note: Spreading your legs a little helps
so the handle bars don't hit.
Suggestion: Practice by doing a 180 .
BUTTERFLY - back
to list
Do a bunny-hop and while in mid air, turn your handle-bars back and forth--that is
to say 90 degrees to the left, then 90 degrees to the right.
Note: This trick works better with a
ramp cause of more air time.
CURB ENDO - back
to list
Come to a stop perpendicular to a curb
and apply the front brake.
At this point, push forward and down
on your handle-bars, lifting the back tire off the ground.
Note: Try to avoid going over the handle-bars.
After a brief pause, set the back tire
down and ride away.
DOUBLE PEG GRIND - back
to list
Bunny-hop onto an edge/surface and grind on the front and back peg as you're moving.
ENDO - back
to list
Roll forward and apply the front brake.
As you do, push forward and down on your
handle-bars, lifting the back tire off the ground.
Set it down and ride away.
FEEBLE GRIND - back
to list
Bunny-hop onto a rail or wall, land on a back peg, and grind it as you're moving.
Note: Your front wheel should be rolling
along the top of what the peg is grinding along.
FOOT PLANT - back
to list
Ride up to a bench or wall, and bunny-hop toward it.
When you reach it, take a foot off the
nearest pedal to the wall or bench and slam it onto the bench or wall,
all the while pushing yourself up and away from the object so that you
land safely.
FUFANU - back
to list
While in mid air, pull up on the handle-bars
and grab your back brake.
Slam your back tire against a wall or
onto coping.
Lean toward your landing area while your
tire is hitting so it's easier and safer to land.
Then land on your front tire followed
by the back.
Ride away.
ICE-PICK - back
to list
Bunny-hop onto a wall, bench, rail or whatever, and land on your back peg.
Hold it for a few seconds (not moving),
then hop back down.
Keep the front tire in the air and aim
for a vertical position.
It's the opposite of the "Toothpick ."
ICE-PICK GRIND - back
to list
An ice-pick grind is an "ice-pick "
with the peg grinding as you're moving.
It's the opposite of the "Smith-Grind ."
MANUAL - back
to list
Similar to a wheelie ,
although you don't pedal as you coast on the back tire.
Use your body accordingly to keep momentum
until your front tire drops.
NOSE-PICK - back
to list
Start with a bunny-hop .
Hold the front brake and set your front
wheel on whatever you're trying to do the nose-pick on (such as a curb
or bench).
Balance on the front wheel with the back
wheel in the air for as long as you can.
Then push off, land, and ride away.
PEG STALLS - back
to list
Bunny-hop onto something (coping, bench...) landing the front and back peg of
either side of the bike.
Lean into the coping, and stall for a
while (suspended animation).
Optional: Make some sort of gesture.
When you finally decide, Bunny-hop back off by leading with your
front tire when you're done.
SMITH GRIND - back
to list
Bunny-hop on to some sort of grinding surface.
Let the back wheel roll across the top,
and have the front peg grinding along the surface.
It's the opposite of the "Ice-Pick
Grind ."
STUNTMAN - back
to list
ADVANCED! You'll need mad air from a ramp for this one. While flying through the
air, push the bike forward and grab the back pegs with both hands. Then
push the bike back and resume the standard riding position (while in
the air) - that is to say, put your hands back on handle bars and your
ass above the seat...then just land it.
TOOTHPICK - back
to list
Bunny-hop onto the surface of your choice and land on your front peg.
It's the opposite of an "ice-pick ."

degrees to the left or right (full circle) under your feet
At the same time spin your handlebars
full-circle (360°)...a simultaneous event.

As you take off, pull your handlebars
up and toward you and turn your handlebars 180 degrees
At the same time, look back whilst in
the middle of the jump
TURN DOWN BACK-FLIP- back
to list
Approach a jump or ramp at a speed to
complete a back flip .
As you're in the process of executing
the back-flip, turn your handlebars 180 degrees simultaneously, looking
back whilst in the middle of the jump.
WHEELIE - back
to list
As you're riding forward, pull up on
the handle-bars and pedal with only the back tire on the ground.
It's the same as a "Manual "
but also pedaling as you're doin' it.
X-UP - back
to list
While in mid air, turn your handle-bars
180 degrees to either side, then quickly turning them 180 degrees to
the other side.
It's the same as the "Butterfly ,"
