This "Phlog" is an attempt to chronicle my every-day life in photographs without any comments other than a title. This Phlog, as I like to call it, should allow all of the images to speak for themselves--since a picture can sometimes say more than words. All photographs posted are personal originals unless otherwise stated. Please note that all images are copyrighted.

Sunset On Our Bikes

Above: On my bike one afternoon with "Chauser" (Sam Quick), I took this picture of the sunset that was taking place at the time. This is along the road that takes you to Buffalo Park off of Cedar Avenue in Flagstaff, AZ.

Another Burning Bush

The Burning Bush

Above: I like to think this bush is something like Moses experienced on the top of Mount Ararat (sp?) during his first encounter with the Great "I AM."

Who knows, it could have been like this. It would have been cool to watch the whole scene take place, ya know?

This is actually a bush/tree on top of one of the mounts that lead up to the Sedona airport in Arizona. From this mount-top you can get a great view of the whole city of Sedona.

If you're a visitor to Sedona, you might consider driving half-way up Airport Road and pulling off to the side and hiking to the top of this mount for a killer view. You'll see a spot to pull over and will probably have to fight for a parking spot in the dirt.

Space Ship?

Above: Bell rock just out side of Sedona, AZ--in Village Of Oak Creek, AZ.

Years ago, back in the 1980's (supposedly) a flock of guru types gathered a bunch of people together to hold hands and chant around Bell Rock with the expectation of watching a space ship emerge from under the landmark. Needless to say, nothing happened, but it's an interesting story to tell.

Aspen Forest

Above: An aspen forest among the world's largest ponderosa forest. This picture was taken about 18 miles North of Flagstaff, AZ on hwy 180.

The Shagster On His 4 Wheel Bike

Above: Shaggy (Jason D.) sittin' proud on his quad out on Leupp Road with Flagstaff's San Francisco Peaks in the background.

That day was the first day Shaggy and I hung out. I took a butt-load of pictures that day, some of which I'll probably add to this phlog later.

The day couldn't have been any nice either. Notice not a cloud for miles, bright sunshine in the middle of spring 2004. Ahhhhh, but to be out there on my mountain bike!

Willow's Artwork

Above: This shot of a work created by Willow Wright, my best friend's cousin, is of course of Drew Barrymore. It hung in the apartment I shared with a buddy Jarod Sears at the Pines At University in Flagstaff, AZ back in 1999-2000.

I positioned the clipper ship and the candle-holder I made for a better effect visually. I hope you like my rendition of Willow's work.

Lake Mead At Night

On The Edge!

Above: One of the many walkways to the edge of the Grand Canyon at the South Rim.

A note to those who like to ride their bikes: there are many places to ride, but stay off the main drag cause most everybody is looking at other things other than the road, trust me on that.

Do what you want, but it's pretty dangerous up there.

The majority of the vegetation is made up of Juniper, many varieties of Pine, Pinion, Cedar, Aspen, spruce and more.

Bike Ridin' Sunset

Above: A monsoon sunset over an office building parking lot we passed while riding our mountain bikes around town.

My favorite part about this picture is the color the lights give off with the contrasting background.

Blue and orange are oposite colors, so it's especially cool lookin'.

This was a day that Mike, Sam and I were ridin' around on our bikes. Mike was on his BMX, Sam was on his Kona hard tail mountain bike and I was on my full suspension mountain bike.

Picture circa August 2005.

A Real Sunrise?

Above: Yes! This is an undoctored and very real sunrise picture I took one VERY early morning. The day turned out to be a great day to ride a bike, despite what the morning looked like. You know, the old "red sky in the morning, sailor take warning" thang.

That old addage is so old that it has passed down the generations from the day when crossing the Atlantic was possible only by Clipper Ship (as early as 1400's!

Cornville, AZ Sunset

Above: An incredible sunset in Cornville, Arizona one summer evening circa 1996. Caleb's place looking West toward Mingus mountain while chattin' with him and his young and BEAUTIFUL wife Talitha.

I vividly remember that night cause it was the day I discovered my favorite bread. For lunch that day Talitha made a vegi sandwich with Kalamata olive bread. I buy it regularly now cause it was so good.

This is one of my favorite pictures and am proud to have taken it.

Remnants Of A Hurricane

Above: The sunset in Flagstaff, AZ as a result of what's left of a hurricane that was off the coast of California in late 2004.

This picture is looking North-West from the corner of Soliere Avenue and 4th Street on the East side of town.

Scattered "BMX" Snow

Above: An abstract view of a snow covered tree across from Secrist Hall on the Northern Arizona University campus (the tree is actually in the cemetery). This picture was taken with a Pentax K1000 fully manual camera using 35mm 200 speed film with the slowest possible shutter speed without experiencing too much blur.

I called it "Scattered 'BMX' Snow" cause I remember wanting a BMX bike so bad that day! The picture does not reflect riding a bike, a bike or anything even remotely close to a bicycle, but only the memory of what I was thinking at that point in my life. I know, weird!

Anyway, this was taken circa 1997 when I first got to NAU after transferring from West Virginia University.

Memories.

Monsoon Brewing

Above: A killer monsoon building up over the San Francisco Peaks. We were jumpin' and ridin' our bikes under these conditions. I had my full suspension mountain bike, Sam Quick was ridin' his Kona hard tail with dual crown forks and Mike Shirley was ridin' his killer (expensive) BMX bike. Mike and Sam are both way better than me, but they tolerated my ridin' on this day, as they do all the other days.

Mile Marker 394 Hwy 89A

Above: Highway 89A headin' toward Flagstaff, AZ from Sedona, AZ just after climbing the "S" turns in Oak Creek Canyon. Circa 1998 on a fairly clear summer day. If I remember correctly, a killer monsoon moved in later that day and wreaked havoc in this part of the Northern Arizona Area.

Lowell Observatory

Above: This is looking (from the inside of the campus) at the back side of the world famous Lowell Observatory guest services building in Flagstaff, AZ. Lowell observatory is where Pluto was discovered and the first evidence that the universe is expanding was discovered. Thank you Percival Lowell (the man who founded this place)! The official Lowell observatory website can be visited by clicking here.

Flowing Rock

Above: This image of a rock before the flowing Colorado River was taken by a friend of mine (Joshua Cohen) back in the late 1990's early 2000's. Need less to say he won first place for this picture at a Northern Arizona Uninversity photography contest.

Scene Of Our Last Camping Session

Above: This is only one image of what my last camping session looked like on October 10, 2005 in the peaks of Flagstaff, AZ.

The wind was so strong right there on the edge of this ridge that the tent we were in sounded like it was gonna rip off the ground (with us in it) and blow away.

We didn't get much sleep that night, needless to say. Spidey took about 2 hours to find the place and tossed his motorcycle which was in the back of his truck in the process. He was pretty frustrated.

Shaggy and I had a little more luck in finding the spot--we went directly to it thanks to Shaggy's great navagational abilities.

This monsoon (seen above) was rolling in just a few hours before we left.
